Pumpkin Patch

Tanner, Grandma Judy and I went to Brighton today to a pumpkin patch. It was a wild ride to get there and very windy but we had fun. We went on a hay ride up to the pumpkin patch and Tanner ran through a hay maze. He really had a blast. He got to pick out his own pumpkin, look at chickens, and look at a lot of "vroom...vrooms" (John Deer Tractors).

Tanner runs through the pumpkin patch searching for just the right pumpkin for Halloween. He lost his focus for just a moment when he laid eyes on the cutest "little pumpkin" (15 month old Addison). Then he remembered what he was there for and found a perfect pumpkin to take home and carve.

Tanner Talks

Tanner is really a jabber box. He talks all the time but hardly says anything that we can understand. I'm sure that he knows what he is talking about. Mostly he says ball, ba (bottle), dog, da-da (daddy). He sometimes says momma especially when I am holding another baby. He has also recently been saying hot and hat but they sound about the same. He points at everything and says "dat", wanting to know what it is called. On walks he loves to smell the flowers and pick up rocks and bark. He notices everything in the sky like birds, planes and clouds. Recently, he showed us that he is afraid of thunder. I can't believe how much he changes every day.

Tanner loves Music

Well, Tanner loves music and his new discovery is Micky's piano. He loves to make music and begs to be able to play. Does he have a gift in music? We will keep you up dated!

Here Are Some More Party Pics

Tanner's Party

On Saturday we celebrated Tanner's 1st year with a barbecue. Many friends and family came to see Tanner. He got more favorite toys. A car that he loves to ride around in, a John Deer tractor, a piano that again makes a lot of noise, and much more. He are the viedos of him eating his birthday cake:

Tanner is 1

I can't believe it has been a year already! On Tanner's birthday we had Grandma & Grandpa over for dinner and opened a few presents. He got lots of new toys that he actually likes. Micky got him an ATV that makes lots of noise and he loves it. Great Grandma Barnett got him a cell phone and he has carried it around everyday since. After dinner we went out for ice cream. His favorite!

How cute!

Tanner is very funny. He waves hello and goodbye with one or two hands. Sometimes he just lays down on the floor for a break but not for long. He also talks all of the time but we have no idea what he is saying. He was hilarious tonight watching himself on the computer. He was laughing out loud and pointing to himself. He sure thinks he's cute! So do we!

Tanner rides Bud

We were out at Grandma & Grandpa James' house this weekend for Mother's Day and had a great time. Tanner walked all around and took a few diggers in the dirt and on the concrete. Shorts are a little rough on your knees when you are just learning how to walk. He has a few battle wounds but that's OK. He usually doesn't cry he just gets up and keeps on moving. He also got to ride a horse named Bud which he loved.

Tanner is walking like a pro

Tanner started walking about a month or so ago but now he is a real pro. This video is an example of what he does all day. He never stops moving that's for sure. He gets into everything and loves to play with anything that is NOT a toy. Enjoy!

Getting Better

Tanner is getting much more comfortable with walking. He is starting to let go of the furniture and walking across the room just to get to his toys. He is getting really brave.

First Steps

Great Grandma Barnett traveled 1200 miles so she could be here for Tanner's first steps. Good thing he cooperated!

Watch me float

Tanner has successfully complete his second series of swim lessons and continues to enjoy the water. He loves water games such as Motor Boat Motor Boat and he has a big smile while going up and down during Wheels on the Bus. He really liked lounging around in a life vest. Looks like we are ready for grandma's pool this summer.

Tanner Laughing

This is hilarious! When Tanner laughs it is contagious. He does not laugh all the time but when you get him going it is hard to want him to stop. I love this and hope you all do too.

Patty Cake

This week Tanner has learned how to clap his hands. He is sooo cute! He does it all the time now. He stops whatever he is doing when music comes on so he can patty cake. He likes to dance too.

Tanner Sounds

Tanner makes sounds all the time, it's SO cute!

Tanner Stands

Tanner is really good at standing on practically anything even the TV and some walls.

Tanner Crawling

I think Tanner started to crawl around January 3rd. He is getting really good at it now. He is starting to follow us all around the house.

January 8, 2007

I can't believe that Tanner is already 6 months old. He is growing and changing so fast. Tanner started moving in my tummy, came out kicking and has not stopped. He moves non-stop all day and even in his sleep. He has been standing on things since he was about 3 months and pulling himself up and sitting alone at about 5 months. Now at 6 months he is crawling all around the house. I can't keep him out of the dog food. We were hoping that he would stop crying when he was mobile but unfortunately now he just crawls and cries at the same time. He is very strong willed and needs a new activity every few minutes. Tanner LOVES food and will eat anything we give him and he especially loves ice cream. On the sight of ice cream, he starts to kick, grab and say NEH-NEH-NEH until you are forced to give him some.

Tanner really likes to take a bath and play in the water so we took him swimming for the first time last week. We start swim lessons on the 22 of January. I'm sure it will be a great time. He also loves looking at himself in the mirror and playing with toys that make a lot of noise. He is now about 14 lbs (5th percentile) and 25 in. long (30th percentile). Tanner is a little runt although his head measures 44 cm. which is the 50th percentile. Unfortunately, he is not a weeble and does fall down and get a lot of bumps on the head. He still wears 3 to 6 months clothes. The doctor says that he is just small like me but I'm sure he'll grow to be tall and buff like Micky.
